The difference between a complete outfit post on the blog and a picture on Instagram is the key to why the latter happens more often than the former. I still feel a little ashamed asking my company to take my camera and take a couple of pictures while I pose in the middle of the street. Posing in public is scary, okay?

But lately it's been happening a lot more, with the help of my Youtube partner Alex of course. We recently took a trip to Berlin together and the entire trip was us changing in and out of clothes to take more photos and videos, with some breaks for coffee of course. We're working hard on content for the channel, which I'll show you here sooner rather than later.

I kind of want the cold grey days to be over, because during winter I find myself dressing the same colour palette over and over and I would really like to add a little more variety to my outfit. As much as I love fashion I'd really rather not freeze to death when my legs are out in the open.

Do you find yourself in a fashion rut when the temperatures drop? Let me know!

December Free Wallpaper

Whenever the end of a month gets closer and closer a little tingle starts, I get excited about changing the wallpaper on my computer. I know, the littlest things I can get excited about. This month, however, I couldn't quite decide which one to choose for myself and I made quite a few.

So I thought I would share the ones I made with you! They're pretty much all themed for the holiday season, think large pine trees and golden glitter, to get you in the spirit for the upcoming holidays. I personally have the marble circle as my current wallpaper, but maybe I'll switch to something more festive as the joyous days inch closer.

Download the marble wallpaper here.

Download the pine tree wallpaper here.

Download the gold glitter wallpaper here.

Download the pink snowflake wallpaper here.

I hope someone will find some use out of these, otherwise they would just be sitting in a folder on my computer, with nothing happening to them. Let me know if you like them!

Zara Pink Suit 1

Zara Pink Suit 3

Zara Pink Suit 2

Truffle Velvet Boots

I am now of the opinion that every girl needs a suit in her wardrobe. After swiping my card for this peachy pink Zara number I felt so accomplished. Walking around in it makes me feel like I'm Business Barbie, but badass at the same time. I'm not new to the blazer/trouser combination but somehow this made me feel so much more put together.

And let's not neglect the gorgeous velvet ankle boots on my feet. This pair is from Asos and it ticked all of the boxes on my 'I need new ankle boots'-checklist. The velvet is super soft, the colour is a little something different than black or navy blue velvet, plus the shaft is of the sock variety and hits me at just the right spot above my ankle. But I like most that the heel is of a manageable height, I can easily walk around in these for a while.

This look is part of the latest video I published with my YouTube husband Alex from which you can find here. While you're at it we would love it if you left a comment and subscribed to our channel!

The Coffee Combo 1

Metallic skirt Outfit 1

I'm not sure if I mentioned this on here before, but my friend Alex from and I have started a brand new adventure together. We've known each other for about a year and from day one we knew we had a lot of things in common. We decided to launch a YouTube channel together because we wanted to combine our different styles and felt like our personalities complimented each other in such a way that we could bring something to YouTube that wasn't there yet. So we did it! We launched our own channel.

Our channel is dubbed 'The Coffee Combo' and we're going to upload videos about fashion, lifestyle and travel. We might vlog specific things like our upcoming trip to Berlin or parties we are invited to. But that is to be decided. The first video we uploaded is a look at our recent pickups wardrobes additions and can be found HERE.

I would love it if you could stop over at our new channel and give our first video a look. We're really excited about this new adventure and are hard at work to create more and better content for you!

Have you ever tried YouTube? Or what do you like seeing on YouTube?

While I need more days in the weekend, money on the bank and cups of coffee in the morning, something I don't need, is more tiny bags. But that doesn't stop me from getting them, does it? I have a weakness for micro bags and can't stop swiping my card for them. They are just so adorable and it really helps you streamline what you bring on a daily basis. I'm really grasping for

I came across this cute little bug (see what I did there?) in Zara when I was looking for an outfit to wear to the Doctor Martens store opening in Utrecht earlier this week. It ticked all my boxes. Cute, a colour that goes well with my usual palette, interesting detail and positively tiny. While you can't fit much more than a phone, your keys and card holder into it, it's such a little beauty.

It comes with a fine gold coloured chain and the little insect detail is gold as well. The bright vibrant shade of red is gorgeous, I own nothing like it. Colour is lacking in my wardrobe so I've really been trying to get a little more of it through accessories and new pieces.

The price was pretty cute as well, it was only €15,95, which made me do a double take. I expected it to be so much more!

What do you think of this little cutiepie? What is your shopping weakness?

The Best Apps to Raise Your Instagram 1

The Best Apps to Raise Your Instagram

We're alive during the age of Instagram, the picture sharing app has seriously changed the media landscape. People can now be 'Instagram famous' and base entire careers off of carefully posed and edited pictures, whether they like it or not.

A well thought out and edited photo can boost your likes and engagement up to 45 percent, that's quite a lot!

Instagram used to only allow you to slap on a filter and be done with it, but have since updated with much more editing features that allow you to change the filter intensity, brightness/exposure, saturation, etcetera. But if that still isn't enough for you and you want to know something about other apps available, then keep reading for some of my favourites.

If you don't mind spending a bit of money on a great app, then the one app you should get is 'Facetune'. It's around €5 or $4 in the App Store and it has, by far, my favourite features of all the editing apps. From smoothing skin to making eyes pop, this app can do it all. But I really like it because of the 'whiten' feature. If you're wondering how your favourite crisp white Instagram feeds get their pictures that bright, this is probably it.

Another one that's really good is VSCO, this used to be used a lot to plan an Instagram feed. (So you could see how the images look together rather than just uploading random pictures. But since their makeover this feature has pretty much disappeared. But it still offers aesthetically pleasing filters that you can edit to your liking. The app also allows you to copy your edits so you can paste them onto another picture, which makes it easier to create a uniform look in your feed or series of pictures. (Snapseed is equally as good and

I'm a big fan of the 'from where I stand'-shots. But I can't tell you how many times I want to take a picture of some pretty flooring and my shoes when I see some unsightly grime on the floor below me. With the retouch app you can easily highlight the parts of the picture you want gone and it fills it in with the right surrounding colours. If you keep these highlighted areas small no one will be able to tell what it was before. Not even with Instagram's new zoom feature!

I've mentioned this one before in my 'Mastering The Instagram Flatlay'-post, but my handy little helper for those perfect 'from above' shots is Foodie. Besides the handy level helper it also has gorgeous filters catered to certain types of food. And what is Instagram without pictures of food, right?

These apps are my favourite and without them my Instagram game would be a lot worse. Now if only there was an app that made it easy to post interesting content every day..

What are your favourite photo editing apps?

September 16, 2016

Happy Friday, everyone! It’s been a while since I last sat down and took time to write things down on here. I’ve mentioned before how excited I was about going back to school, but when talking about that I seemed to have forgot how much work it is to juggle everything at once. I let this blog slip a little and it’s kind of stressing me out, kind of a paradox when you think that I use writing as an outlet that usually calms me down.

But I don’t like droning on about negative things, so instead I want to give it a positive twist as I am getting back into blogging at the moment. I'm adjusting to the changes in my life and finding new ways to do everything I want to do without having to let go of things. There are so many things to be glad and joyous about, so here are some things in my life that make me very happy.

01. Meeting new people that make me laugh on a daily basis
02. The memory of making and drinking Frosé (frozen rosé) a few weeks ago
03. Celebrating an anniversary with my partner in crime and love
04. Going to the opening of the Doctor Martens Utrecht store next week
05. Planning not one but two trips to Berlin in November
06. A gorgeous new laptop that’s going to make blogging even easier
07. The weather getting colder which makes wearing clothes that much more enjoyable
08. Pretty notebooks to scribble things in

09. The leftover pasta bake in the fridge (I'm salivating just thinking about it)
10. Learning new things at school
11. Brainstorming about new ideas for a possible YouTube channel with Alex
12. Tiny luxuries like a gorgeous new set of lingerie
13. Greek food with my partner in crime and love tonight
14. My parents on holiday in Turkey, which gives me the place all to myself
15. Cups of coffee in the morning
16. Knowing I won't have to set my alarm for two days in a row

When you stop and think about it there are so many things to be happy and positive about, aren’t there? So what are you happy about? I’d like to know!

SHIRT: Primark | TROUSERS: H&M | BAG: Zara | SHOES: Asos

Has anyone ever told you how hard it is to look charming in photographs while the wind is blowing your hair everywhere and the sun is in your eyes? No? Well they should have, it took a lot of filtering and these are the best shots I could find in the pictures lovingly taken by the boyfriend when we visited Wijk Aan Zee last weekend.

This outfit combo was mostly chosen because these pants are ridiculously light and comfortable to wear all day. I've had them for ages, had actually given them to my mother because they didn't quite fit nicely anymore, but somehow they fit again and I thought they would go perfectly with this white graphic Nasa t-shirt. I've been seeing this print everywhere and I love it.

On my shoulder I have a beautiful navy crossbody bag from Zara. The crushed velvet is on trend for the new season and I couldn't be happier, I'm such a fan of this fabric. This trend might even mean I get to take out my black velvet suit, keep your eyes peeled for that!

The silver metallic shoes are one of my favourite items in my closet and I don't nearly wear them enough. They're so cool and they add an edge of interest to even the most basic of outfits. They're starting to show a little wear and tear, which makes me sad because I don't think I ever want to part with these babies.

What's your favourite item for the coming season? And what do you think of the crushed velvet trend?

August 20, 2016

We're rapidly speeding towards the end of summers. A little more than a week from now most of us will be headed back to college or university, leaving the carefree days in the past and buckling down to our responsibilities. I'm actually kind of excited about school starting again. I'll be starting a new education and am quite curious to see what the year is going to offer me.

To put off the inevitable and find a way to spend our Saturday doing something else than lying around the house watching Grey's Anatomy, the boyfriend and I took a (loooooong) road trip to Wijk Aan Zee. This tiny village has one of the prettiest beaches in the Netherlands that aren't as overcrowded as the larger ones in The Hague. As you can see it's a really popular spot for wind-surfers and kite-boarders. The weather wasn't that great that we could lie out and sunbathe, but we could sit down at one of the beach bars and enjoy the sunshine and wind in our hair as we sipped on rosé wine.

The days where we just sit around and watch the people going by are high up on my list of favourite type of days. I don't necessarily need to have tons of activities when I'm out and about.

Towards the end of the day we headed to the beach club next door for dinner, a spot that my boyfriend had raved about before. The atmosphere was really chill and I really enjoyed watching the people wander in in their wetsuits ordering beers and chips and heading back to the beach to catch some more waves.

I had a lovely chicken and pumpkin curry that was incredibly filling and delicious. As the sun was making it's way back into the sea we walked back to the car through the dunes, all the while catching some Pokémon (yes, we're those kind of people) and chatting. On the highway going back home the sky turned a dark threatening shade and rain started to fall furiously, but we didn't mind, because our perfect day had already finished. So now for the rest of the night, and probably tomorrow too, we're spending time together at home. We've got to savour these last days of summer because it's back to hectic reality before we know it.

What have you been up to this weekend?

August 01, 2016

I'll be the first to admit that I spend an exorbitant amount of my income on clothing and beauty items that I don't need. Probably a little too much to be honest. Scratch the probably, because it's a definitely. That's something I want to change. Being financially fit and stable is important, especially if you're like me and you're preparing to move out from under your parental wings sooner rather than later.

To ween myself off of this spending habit I have decided to place myself under a strict spending ban. Starting today going to up October 1st I am not allowed to spend any money on clothing, accessories and beauty items. I'm setting budgets for 'entertainment expenses' for the events that I had already planned for the months to come and necessary expenses (school supplies are needed to start the new year) so that I can keep track of what is coming in and going out of my account. I need to get a grip on budgets and not just keep going and going until my card says no.

I think that by not spending anything on fashion and beauty for a month I can save quite bit of cash that I can then put towards my savings account. Plus it will be a great chance to 'shop my closet' and finish the abundance of makeup I have lying around untouched. I'm looking forward to diving into my closet and coming up with new ways to interpret what I already have on the shelves.

I'll try to update you bi-weekly on how my personal challenge is going. I'm quite excited and nervous at the same time because now I have to really think about my actions all the time. It's quite shocking to realise how many times a day I think 'I want this, I think I could get it there and there'. Wish me luck this time around! How do you guys curb your spending?

July 28, 2016

Ah, sometimes taking a break is exactly what you need. I've been feeling the 'blogger's block' for a while now, so instead of grinding out posts that I don't put my heart into I decided to take a step back, observe and watch as the puzzle pieces fall into place. It's also been really nice to enjoy the great weather with my friends and boyfriend. During the dog days of Dutch summer there have been several items that kept popping up for me as favourites.

It seemed a little strange showing you my undergarments, but I have to sing the praises of this glorious bralet. I've wanted one for ages but never was able to find one that worked for my width and cup size, but this one does. I don't think I'll ever enjoy wearing underwire bras again. This bra is incredibly comfortable plus the combination of sheer fabric and lace make it super cute.

There is something you need to know about Dutch summers. They're very humid and generally don't make you feel great. If I had bullocks I would be sweating them off. And as the air conditioning at my job doesn't really function the way it should I often feel like a sweaty shiney mess. Now that's the kind of glow a girl doesn't want, right? I like spritzing my face every once in a while because it makes you feel cleaner and the sensation seems to cool me down a little. I often toss a random one into my bag, but this one from La Roche Posay matched the flatlay nicely, so it's the one that got featured.

With the added sweat (so glamorous, I know) I feel like my skin needs an extra bit of love, but I don't enjoy masks that I can put on leave on for a couple minutes and then rinse. No twenty plus minute waits for me. This Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque from Aesop is perfect. It smells like a spa, does a great job at clearing up my skin and never leaves my skin feeling tight or uncomfortable. I couldn't recommend this one enough.

The phone actually represents two of my favourites. First of all this lovely new case I ordered from Ali Express. I have a soft spot for anything with an eye print on it, so when I saw this pop up on the app I couldn't keep myself from ordering it. The second favourite is the much discussed new game 'Pokemon Go'. I grew up playing the games on my old brick of a Gameboy and now I can play it in real life. It's so funny to see people walking all over town with their nose in their phones looking for the virtual creatures I grew up with. I've caught quite a few myself already and can't wait to do some more exploring. I really want to catch 'em all!

Every once in a while I go through a style shift. Right now I am all about classing up my wardrobe and having a more mature set of clothes. I saw these white oxfords on the ModeMusthaves site and really thought I could make them work for summer. I've been wearing them a lot, with a jumpsuit, skirts or even a nice coloured trouser. I love how they add a nice chic edge to your look, whatever you wear. I used the hairdryer trick on them to break them in the second I got them, because shoes like this always take forever to break in naturally.

That's it, my current favourites all about summer. What items have you been reaching for more now that temperatures are reaching their highest point?

Bomber: Zara | Top: Unknown | Shorts: Cheap Monday (DIY) | Bag: Zara | Shoes: Adidas

I wore this lightweight bomber jacket to dinner in Dubrovnik the other day. I spied it in the sale before I went on holiday and initially decided against picking it up because let's be honest I really didn't need another jacket hanging in my closet. But I couldn't get it out of my head so I went back after the weekend and luckily it was still there.

The pictured outfit is super simple but it has to be one of my favourite outfits I've worn on this holiday as of yet. It's my usual casual style mixed in with a little sass in the form of the bomber jacket. It gives it a little bit of a sporty vibe. I used to be pretty self conscious about the shape of my body, but I feel like I have grown as a person and now I celebrate my curves. They're what make me real, I won't hide or edit them.

Also, I can't believe how light my hair is getting out here in the sun. I might even take it a step further and become a full on blonde when I return..

July 08, 2016

I'm very happy to report that I'm typing up this post out on the balcony of our Airbnb, nose turned towards the sun and an abundance of freckles spread all over my cheeks. It's early in the morning and like always I am not capable of sleeping in when I'm not in my own bed. So I decided to sit down and edit some of the photos I have snapped since arriving in sunny Dubrovnik.

We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and settled into our apartment, completely knackered from our journey (my body doesn't deal well with getting up before 5 am). We decided against going out into Old Town that night and instead chose a small restaurant that was incredibly close to our place. Most of the restaurants serve a lot of seafood fresh from the sea, absolutely delicious.

The second day we explored the ancient old city, walked the city walls in the blistering heat, had more delicious food but went back to the apartment for a night in and I cooked up a little dinner myself which we enjoyed out on the balcony before the boyfriend watched the European cup semi finals, boys will be boys. Not like I minded, I was incredibly tired and in need of some rest.

On the third day we ticked off a few boxes of our must see list, the Dubrovnik cable car and swimming at the cliff side Buza bar. The cable car took us up incredibly quickly, providing us with stunning views of the city and its ports. We enjoyed a lovely sandwich and a wonderful cocktail at the panorama restaurant. You're really going to pay for it there, but my oh my those views were too wonderful to pass up. As far as the swimming goes at Buza, it was a little crowded but down on the rocks it was lovely. There were people jumping off the cliffs into the water. While it looked exciting I would never do that because I'm the biggest klutz and I would surely slip and break my neck.

We leave next Friday and we still have so much on the list of things we want to do and see, so you can expect many more pictures of this beautiful city and its surrounding islands.

July 05, 2016

By the time you're reading this I'm flying at about 35000 ft high across Europe, I'm on my way to Dubrovnik, Croatia for a marvellous ten days in the sun. We've rented an airbnb with a breathtaking view and I can guarantee many a cocktail will be consumed. This time around I have put a lot of thought and preparation into packing (I have about ten versions of checklists sitting in a folder on my laptop) and thought I would share what I am packing inside my hand luggage. But let's be honest about it, I just really wanted to do some more flatlays.

The flight from Amsterdam to Dubrovnik isn't incredibly long, so there is no need for me to bring a lot of skincare products to preserve my already dry skin during the flight. I've decided on just a refreshing mist and normally I would decant a little of the Origins Drink Up Intensive mask to bring along with me, but I still had tons of samples lying around from my recent visit to Kiehl's that I didn't want to fuss and just tossed that little sachet into my bag. I'll apply this after takeoff to make sure my skin stays nice and hydrated even in the dry cabin air. Do us girls really go anywhere without a lip balm chucked into our bag? I don't think so, so of course that is making an appearance in my hand luggage as well.

I'll be going onto the plane without any makeup on (it's an early morning flight) but I am planning to apply a little once we get to our final destination, so just a lash curler and a good mascara will suffice. I've packed the compact powder mostly for it's mirror but perhaps I'll use just a light sweep of it to even my skintone just a smidge.

I've also packed my iPad for in-flight entertainment (I'll tell you all about the books I am reading soon) and my phone is permanently glued to my hand so you can be sure I'm bringing that. I've stopped drinking soda and snacking on sweets or crisps but do occasionally get peckish, especially when travelling. I love these little bags of assorted nuts, they're incredibly tasty and filling but without the sodium that will make you thirsty. Airplane peanuts step aside, I've got my own snacks.

Besides the usual travel necessities like passports and tickets I like to carry a small sized notebook with me, you never know when inspiration strikes or you find something you want to jot down. Summer has been pretty non-existent the last month in the Netherlands but I'll surely be needing my sunglasses upon arrival, these gold ones from Ray Ban are my absolute fave. These unfortunately aren't prescription so let's hope I won't have to do any navigating because when I wear them I can't discern anything!

I can't wait to live the adventures we have planned for this trip. Are you going away this summer? Or what is your favourite travel destination
